How soon can I put plants into new raised beds?
By Springy
United Kingdom
I have just finished making 2 raised beds and am itching to get my plants in. Do I need to leave the soil to settle or can I get started straight away? We have used 4 tonnes of soil made from compost fruit/veg and tree and plant shreddings all composted.

I would let it settle a bit, Springy, otherwise the soil will slump and it will not look quite the same as it does just now. You can speed the process up by watering the bed regularly for a few days. You shouldn't have to wait very long.
