I want a very hardy clematis for a shaded north facing hedge, is there such a thing?

Either alpina or montana will survive but they don't like deep shade.

Nelly Moser is supposed to be good in shade as then the flowers won't fade.

'Guernsey Cream' is another one that prefers a shady position

I have Duchess of Albany in Dappled shade. It seemed very happy last season. It is not an open clematis, more a pinkish tulip shape. All shoots cut back to thirty cms round this time of the year. If you get a clematis, remember to keep the label, and name, as they can have very different pruning routines according to habit.

How do I say thanks?
