On and on and on and on

I planted clematis ‘Kaiu’ three years ago. It has small white bells with a pink tinge on the newly opened flowers. Several websites agreed it would grow to around two metres, perfect for training into the purple-leaved shrub physocarpus opulifolius ‘Diabolo’
After a couple of years to get established, it took quite a shine to its host
Two weeks ago, I noticed a shoot had spread out and grasped a branch of ribes speciosum
This is quite a prickly shrub. Perhaps it didn’t appreciate the thorns as it has now grabbed hold of the softer tamarix tetrandra
Not content with these three, the clematis has now clambered to the top of bupleurum fruticosum, a good four metres tall
I’m left wondering how much further it will travel. I don’t think I dare feed it next year.

Thats a real beauty Andrew, it really is enjoying your garden and the choice of plants nearby, your rewards are all the lovely bell-shaped flowers decorating anything in its way..

Ha ha....just more proof that plants can't read their labels. They don't know what it says their maximum size is.If they like the situation' they keep growing it seems. It is very attractive though!

Oh it's lovely, I do love the clems with their little bells, I just hope my new ones do as well as yours when they're big enough to plant out.
