Happy Easter! Could someone please put a name to these as unfortunately I have lost the label. I bought them as ground cover to suppress weeds and they seem to be doing the job. They only bloom at this time of the year, pity as they are a really nice purple.
Also, does anyone know of a taller variety that flowers a bit later in the year?

I agree with Ajuga reptans … excellent ground cover. Another good ground cover plant is Woodruff - pretty white flower in summer. Happy Easter to you!

Thanks for the pic anyway - they are very pretty. It seems to be quite difficult to get enough blue flowers for any time after Spring. There is a pretty blue Linaria that seeds freely and flowers well all summer if you don't mind it popping up all over the place - easy to pull out if unwanted. Will grow to about 18"

Yes, I bought a linaria at a roadside stall many years ago and was told at the time that I would never be without it and it's true! It crops up willy-nilly and I leave it unless it is interfering with something else, as it is a magnet for bees.

Thanks all of you. The name is coming back to me now, yes Ajuga.
I will certainly take a look at Woodruff and Linaria as well.

Happy Easter to you too! Looks like Ajuga reptans of some variety - good groundcover, especially in shade or damper spots. There aren't any that get taller than this though...
