how deep must i have raised beds for growing veg

i only have a patio but am keen to grow some veg

There isn't really any agreement on how deep you really need. I have used wooden boxes that are 6 inches deep going on 3 years now. This is enough for most plants, while carrots and potatoes require more depth.
You will get many arguments about what depth is necessary, but I use what works for me!
