Hostas not growing

have been growing the same hosta for about 7 years very succesfully, but in last 2 years, despite food and water they are barely making it out of the ground adn leaves v small.

You need to divide hostas every few years to keep them growing vigorously - do this in early spring, as soon as they are through the ground, or in late autumn, when going dormant. I prefer to do it in the spring.
