Hi does anybody know what these are they were on my rose plants in pots by my wall,i have since dug them up and got rid of them.help !!!

I think these might be Vapourer moth caterpillars (Orgyia antiqua)?

How did you get there before me Drc? They can cause skin rashes if you handle them but they aren't dangerous and rather beautiful.

It is about the only one I could name Cam, as I seem to remember from my childhood that they fly in the daylight!
