I don't know the variety it was just a packet of free seeds with A.G. lost the label as I didn't think it would flower. I did buy one recently very similar called crimson star and there is one called red star maybe this is pink star? If I find the label I'll let you know.

There are so many and if you have different ones they will cross and you will be surprised at the combinations of colours you will get, you seem to have a beautiful garden.

Hi Holly,

I love your Aquilegia, I think it's a lovely pic and a fav flower of mine. In fact I'm about to download a pic of my next door neighbours one, but my camera isn't very powerful so it's come out bit blurred. What camera did you use to take this pic? :-)

Hi sodapopklc, my camera is just a normal digital one the brand is Rollei dt6 purchased it from one of the shopping channels, I had one before this but wasn't happy with the quality of the pictures, this one cost me about £120 and I think the quality of pictures is really good. It has lots of different features but i'm not very good with cameras so may not be using it to it's full potential. But i'm really pleased you like my photo.

Lovely picture. Trouble with aquilegia though is that you start with some stunning specimens and after a few years they all look the same.. simple common purple ones! Must keep sowing those seeds. Have you tried aquilegia 'Leprechaun gold'... which has blue flowers but beautiful yellow and green foliage? I think the seed was from Thompson and Morgan.
