Well, next to it is Salvia Nemerosa 'Purple Rain'....gorgeous dark violet flowers all summer. That should work I think...:)) Thanks M. You've just reminded me...I also bought a clematis in the sale today and it's still sitting in my car! I forgot all about it until you wrote 'blue flower'! lol :))

Yes, although I read that this plant will tolerate lime and chalk if the soil is well-drained, so you might get away with it in the front garden.
