Hi. I am rose and are lucky enough to live in this lovely house which is an old cottage in the middle of an allotment. Years ago it was a farmhouse and the land surrounding it farmland. Years later it was bequeathed to the council and made a listed building with the farmland for "the poor people of Grimsby to work". I wont go into details how we came by it but it is a dream come true.We took on the very large lawned garden which is on a hill surrounded by beech trees and scots pine so we had a challenge on our hands and now 12 years later have a wonderful garden.I am the main gardener and also work an allotment next door to the house. Unfortunately my husband cant do alot in the garden now due to bad athritis but enjoys pottering on his good days.We get quite a few gardening problems due to the position of the house being surrounded by all the trees so we have made different gardens in the garden so that we can have the right plants in the right places.
After having 14 lovely years in this cottage with sadness, we had to move to a bungalow due mainly to my husbands disability and moved to a rented bungalow in a little village where my parents had lived.
We stayed there 5 years until the people who owned the bungalow decided to sell it.
Now we are in a lovely bungalow in Cleethorpes.
I have landscaped all the gardens and we are very happy and settled here.
