Planted five years ago, this has proved remarkably reluctant to flower (is the soil too dry?). But when it does, it's worth the wait!

I think 'Freckles' has distinct red dots around the edge of the flowers; in 'Minuet', it's more of a continuous band. But the colouring is similar

Looked at some large specimens to buy only this week, love the bright pink one, did not realize they were so hardy, as we have the right soil, think we might just bite the bullet.

Thats a lovely one - Mountain laurel, I know they like to be left alone Andrew Thats how I think I killed mine too pampered. I thought this was Freckles they are very similar?
