The one that opened with 2 petals/2 sepals was supposed to look like this (same plant).

It is more of a lavender. You know how there are certain colours a camera will distort. The near blacks are impossible to get right. If it is a very dark red, then the red really comes through, giving the impression it is less dark. This one is lighter than it appears - not so purple.
