Hot and Humid

The heat wave continues!! You walk outside and it almost takes your breath away. They’re even warning people with asthma or other breathing problems (my hubby and I have asthma) to stay in! Yuck.
Well, I didn’t completely. I went and took some pictures.
For whatever reason, the Nelly Moser Clematis absolutely loves this weather. I’ve never seen so much growth as it’s made this year.
We had so many storms during the last part of the week that really blew stuff around. Some of my poor roses lost a lot of petals. Everything still remaining looks like it took a beating. The hardy geranium still hasn’t gotten back upright yet, the Wine and Roses Weigela lost the rest of it’s blooms – but they were fading anyway.
We need a cool down. Low 80’s and lots less humidity would be a real joy.
I know many all around are suffering the early August previews as well. Hang in there….I’m praying for cooler weather.

We're going to see the lower 80's and less humid here in Massachusetts starting Wednesday. In the meantime 97 expected for tomorrow and 100 on Tuesday. We've had a strong thunderstorm each day for the last three days. If it's going to cool down on Wednesday that means we may get a severe storm late Tuesday. I understand that the storm that came through today was the storm that caused a tornado in Chicago. That is unheard of in that area. The storms seem to have become more intense the last couple of years. It really worries me.

I have truly become storm phobic over the past few years too, Mike. Too many trees around to come crashing down on the house, and just the thought of tornados makes me shudder. If I had the ability there would be a safe room in the house, but the pets & I just sit by the stairs in the worst storms, as it is the most reinforced area. I used to laugh at my Mother when she would panic at a storm,,,,

The storms don't bother me much unless they carry the threat of tornado. We're in an area that gets them frequently, though - thank the Lord, one has never hit right here in our neighborhood. Close....but not here!
The weather has been unusual this year - for everyone - but don't see it as anything but an unusual year. The earth goes through big changes every once in awhile as a matter of course - so I'm not worried.
Now, the fact that my one clematis bush is still turning brown....now THAT worries me!! Aggravation.
Well, we'll probably get rain again late tonight. Only good thing about all this rain - I sure haven't had to water.

I'm with you, Connie! Don't like the humid heat and both fear & dislike the horrid storms that come along after it...
Try to stay cool!
