Introducing myself

Gemma

My garden is in need of some TLC and so joining this site has already given me inspiration for my own garden! As a first time buyer my garden is quite minimalistic, I ensured to keep it this way following failed attempts at selecting the correct and more importantly most appropriate flowers and foliage for my garden! After a year of being in my house I am now beginning to branch out. I am actually finding myself taking time to learn more about the different plants on offer and ways in which I can improve my gardening knowledge.

This seems an excellent forum, I have actually found somewhere where I can share my thoughts and find answers to the most intriguing of questions. I will endeavour to share my rather limited knowledge and absorb others expertise.

Hi Gemma,

I'm more of a veg grower myself, but I am trying flowers this year for the first time. I got a lot of bulbs (tulips, daffs, aliums and crocus via Daily Express offers which I have planted. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Once you start to garden it takes a hold, you rarely get it right first time but when you do its great so do enjoy!

Hallo and welcome! We all have to start somewhere, we are all different, too. I'm always having to look things up and also to ask advice from people who take the time to answer my questions and try to solve problems! Keep reading and asking, it's welcomed and there's always someone who knows the answer..:-)

Hi All,

Thank you for your welcoming comments, I went away this weekend and began work on my garden, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My only problem is that a Clematis bought and planted a few months ago is not growing! I have continually watered it but find that no matter what I do it doesn't seem to be growing as fast as its neighbour a lovely passion flower. I am not giving up hope yet!

What variety of Clematis is it? They are greedy plants and it would enjoy a feed and some good compost round its roots.
