*Summer is Here!*

Its been a busy season so far, and with all the rain we have received the flowers are wonderful this year.
The landscaping in the front has been put on hold for a bit. I did manage to get some foundation plantings in but have not had time for anything else. My title is Summer is here, but oh so short, the days are getting cooler and dare I say it, the leaves are starting to show signs of turning.
The pictures here are of my south facing back yard. The roses were great this year and the Diablo ninebark is producing berries, so the birds are very happy. I added more perennials- Echinacea, Artemesia, Hosta “Marmalade”, Leopards Bane etc, course when you add plants you have to wait out the winter to see if they survive it. Have lost many plants to winterkill. Crossing my fingers.

Lovely roses. It must be difficult knowing when to add more plants when you only have a short summer. Hope your new ones survive!
