Loquat Experiment

Thanks to Tugbrethil who told me a tree in my backyard was really a Japanese Loquat. Now I have decided to do an experiment with the seeds. I read that your not meant to let the seeds dry out, so I’m going to try planting both the fresh seeds and dry ones of the ground. I separated them into two bunches one in normal potting mix, and the other will go in the worm farm. I figured anything will grow in the worm farm.
This is the fresh seeds, although I did take them out. Some of them gave me two and one had three seeds inside.
These are the old seeds found on the ground.
This is where I planted 9 of each kind in the box.
Secondly the worm farm….
This is the top level where the fresh Loquat seeds were placed.
The second level where the concentration of casting should help kick start the dry Loquat seeds. As you can see in the pictures above, there are several things that are growing in there already. Some are pumpkin and I think some are tomatoes.
So I’ll let you know if any sprout, I presume at least one will!
