Another gardening triumph

I was sent a card from Ireland containing shamrock seeds(hand picked by monks),I scraped off and planted half, and was delighted when the first tendrils appeared. These were however promptly eaten by snails.Undeterred,I planted the remaining seeds in individual pots liberally smeared with petrolium jelly and placed out of reach.now, three months later, I am the disillusioned owner of eight pots of clover.

I'm sorry to hear about your Shamrocks. Maybe you'll find one some day.

Well I can tell u I use to pick Shamrock as a kid growing up in Ireland. However we wondered if shamrock was just young clover. I've also tried growing those seeds they sell as Shamrock with no luck. At least u have clover.

thank you all for your replies.I couldn't bring myself to destroy the clover, so I've incorporated it into the front lawn where it should rub along quite nicely with the daisies, violets, primroses, dandelions and and vareous other aliens.

I was born and reared in Ireland and lived there for the first 32 years of my life and in all that time I never once saw shamrock grow in the wild although I did search for years and I also tried to grow it from shamrock I bought for Paddy's day but with no success. i wonder do they get it from Mars???
