Autumn prep.

As Autumn is imminent and everything begins to turn to their pretty autumnal colours I’ve decided to put the net over the pond to prevent these falling leaves from fouling the pond water.

And finally, popped to dobbies and got this patio rose ‘snow cap’ for £3 down from £18 on the ‘reduced’ stand.

Thankyou! Most of the other plants looked pretty dead but within a week of buying it and giving it some fertiliser ball things it has been fine and has 6 buds on already!!

Clever. It all looks very nice Dan. You did a good job on extending the pond to this shape.

Just bought new netting and a new air pump for de icing the ponds also. I placed the fish on their cold weather food and am fattening up my frogs on on mealworms. Great job on the pond!

Thankyou! I've just stopped feeding my fish until the spring now I think!! There's plenty of plant matter they can eat on if and when they want it in the pond haha!

Just want to add that I use the stiffer plastic netting to avoid birds getting tangled up in it and it doesn't slump in a heavy snow( I keep mine on all winter and into the spring to catch the debris from trees that drop their flowers).

Aww that's a good idea! I left mine on till January ish but may move it off once the leaves are off because the pond is quite close to the house and we'll be eating infront of the new window looking directly on it at Christmas

The pond area looks really established now. Good idea to keep out as many leaves as possible.
