It seems to me now that playing Gardening Scrabble

could be a great joy to me this winter.
Proper nouns can be used, providing they are plant names.
There are loads of 4 letter proper nouns, Iris, Geum etc.
The ‘S’ tiles can be saved to pluralise them.
’ ED’ tiles can be hoarded to improve the meanings of work
we do.
All the much loved two letter words we are allowed to
play normally can be used. ox, zo, ti, ky, li, etc.
New uses can be found for ‘QU’ tiles.
We could even include French or German words which would be more fun too.
It expands the number of words that can be used a
thousand fold.
Any queries can be checked on the RHS Plant Enclopaedia.
Will start this evening.
Better than people fighting on soaps, and the news media belting forth on T/V. Switch if off !
Ha ha.

Gardening with friends since
23 Feb, 2011
Having made a start I now realise that words relating to gardening must fit into a seperate part of my memory retention system.
Its very difficult to play using my normal Scrabble vocabulary which has been learned over many years, whilst thinking gardening at the same time !
Will make a seperate chart of 2, 3, and 4 letter gardening words to keep alongside the board.
Its another challenge.
Will be interested to hear if anyone else gives it a try this winter.
