Every day I look on line for a new recipe involving vegetables. Just type in ‘Cabbage Recipes’ or whatever, and they come up.
Copy one out and use it.
This means more vegetable eating, less animal fats and
carbohydrates. Easy peasy weight loss . Healthy eating !

I'd like to know more of your favorite cabbage recipes since I'm growing cabbages this year for the first time - besides stuffed cabbage rolls.

I clicked on Google Search and then Carrot Recipes in the search box, a nice collection to choose from came up.
This a.m. I have made an open Carrot Pie. Wholemeal SR flour pastry base, so not too much carbohydrates/fat. Did
500 g. of Carrots cut in thirds in the slow cooker whilst out shopping.Liquid was a cup of Orange Squash, 1 clove garlic crushed, plenty of mixed herbs, a knob of butter, seasoning - just covering the Carrots. Will drain this liquid off, add a little more butter.
Have lightly fried half a chopped Onion.
Put a little grated Cheese on the pastry base, then the Onion, then the cooled Carrots, a thinly sliced Potato, and
thinly sliced fresh Tomato on top, with more grated Cheese on top.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 210 deg. 18 - 20 mins.

Didn't know you could still get Spam...

Correction. The thinly sliced Potato should be cooked and cooled before adding.

That sounds good.

When I try some more will add them. Its all using vegetables we can grow ! I dont try the ones that involve
more shopping for items I do not have in the cupboard.
Bought 5 small tins of Spam this a.m. It will be there when I need it.
GF winds still blowing over here Bathgate. I was in our town centre this a.m. very little wind as its sheltered.
Hope for respite soon. So much work to do on the garden.
It nearly blows me over.

rain rain rain. That's all we've had the past couple days - but my cabbages are looking great. I put a ring/wreath of copper pennies around each cabbage head an no slugs or pests would dare go near them. LOL it really works.

Thats brilliant ! Will try later on when mine are larger.
re on line 'Vegetable Recipes' I tried the Creamy Cauliflower and Broccolli Bake and think the inclusion of mustard was a mistake. I was suspicious and only used one teaspoonful. Have had to cover the whole lot with boiling water twice, to get rid of the mustard taste which ruined the dish. Children would never eat this. Nor OHs .
Will try it again another time, no mustard at all.

p.s. For the John Torode Cabbage recipe I use the small tins of Spam instead of bacon, as its easier to dice.
