I have 2 patios one open and one enclosed with shrubs. I like gardens where you cannot see it all at once like a series of rooms where one can walk or sit in different zones depending on your mood.

What a transformation, into a very pretty and peaceful area. How about growing some things up the fence? Have you thought of clematis maybe? I have never had any success with clematis and envy anyone who can grow it, and there are so many varieties to choose from too.

This is very nice, lots of things you could do such as a planted up Pergola, furniture, Very Very large pots with and without feature plants, even a summerhouse/greenhouse, have you seen those big wooden raised beds they would look good too.
