Hi Donna,
We have a rescue centre hear in Derbyshire, (Mickleover) and I had a rescued hedgehog released in my garden this year.
I also have a returning hog for the past two years, and I have a feeding station to keep cats out where I put dog food and sprinkle with cat biscuits, plus water.
My hog eats all the food and fattens himself up ready for hibernation and he has now done that. He will return in the Spring.
I call mine Snuggles.
Keep up the good work,
Juney

I`ve just watched a report on Anglia News from the hedgehog hospital in Cambridgeshire Donnah, apparently they are having to ask people not to take anymore there as they are full with rescued hogs, lady said the reason so many are still awake is because the bad weather has stopped the poor things getting enough to eat and therefore they haven`t been able to build up their inner resources to enable them to hibernate, her advice was to do exactly what you are doing, water, cat food, and warmth for them, if possible release them next springtime, the ones in the hospital were in Plastic boxes with newspaper and woolly blankets ... You are doing a smashing job Donnah, you`ll have to name him.......
