Cane mate

I was in Focus at the weekend and I saw a new product called Cane Mate – it’s an orange rubber device for connecting bamboo canes together. According to the graphic on the wire basket on the front of the bamboo cane stand you can use these for making 3 legged wigwams, fruit cages and pean and bean runs/plant supports. I’ve only made a small plant support so far but it was really easy to put together, the canes just slide in and are gripped really well. It looks like it is made from a rubbery plastic which can stretch to fit different size canes. I’ll attempt a fruit cage at the weekend. What a really smart little product!

These look a really helpful thing - will definately look for them next time I go to Focus.

Another company also make these in dark green and a round disc with holes in to make a wigwam.

If you google cane joiners - quite a few sellers come up Arjan. Amazon sell 'Flexi Build Balls Cane Joiners' Have you tried your local plant sellers as we have them over here in Garden Centres.
