Azalea 'White lights'
Genus: Rhododendron.
Species: Rhododendron prinophyllum.
Light pink shaded flowers and dark foliage. The Lights group are for colder temps, down to -35 F. I have them stuffed with straw and wrapped in a dome of plastic to help them avoid the late spring kill frosts that harm most spring tenders that aren't really supposed to live in my Zone. I've consulted a friend who has success with lights in her garden,but she has a more protected placement for them. Hopefully a strong bloom show of pic to add for spring. And a success story. I is classed as deciduous but had not dropped many leaves before winter set in. Whilte Lights is set appart by tender pink buds fading to white and a strong fragrance.
