I love L galedoblein 'hermann's pride. also called yellow archangel, it can be a thug but it is easy to pull out.
I have a purplepink variegated ground cover under the beech tree and a similar one with white flowers in the full sun of the front garden corner bed. both were inherited when we moved in.
