Rosina's Garden
Butterfly bush davidii species
Genus: Buddleja.
Species: Buddleja.
I have 3 of these all three being different colours, i have one at the bottom of my garden its still a young plant approx 1ft but has already flowered, two i have towards bottom of my garden, one is also a year old whilst the third is a baby twiggish like bush.
The butterflies sure do love these bushes and already i have had 5 butterflies appear when before nothing ever came into the garden.
I purchased them from Badgers Nurseries as i purchase all my plants from here, as they never falter and always grow beautiful and are decently priced too.
Did you know that there are roughly 100 species of butterfly bushes yet many are mostly shrubs a few being trees, the largest species reach 30 m tall, but most species rarely exceed 5 m tall.?
Buddleja davidii is a fast-growing and undemanding shrub from China. It is ideal for a wide range of positions in the garden, providing they are sunny and the soil is well-drained. The long, heavy flowering heads transform the bush and make a stunning display for four to six weeks, attracting clouds of butterflies. Prune hard in spring to keep plants within bounds. To propagate, take hardwood cuttings in winter
The phot shown are my Royal Red and my Black Knight bushes.
