Prickly Pear Cacti
Genus: Opuntia.
Species: Opuntia compressa.
I have a big one I bought in a supermarket a year ago, it has given new leaves, but, obviously, living in Ireland, there is not enough heat or sun for the leaves to get big, so they are small and narrow, but they give new leaves, so I suppose it is happy.
The ither one (small one) I brought from Sardinia as a little purple bulb I twisted off the huge plant in the wild. It took it a few months to give root, but it survived and happy- although same issue- the leaves are extra narrow and long.
