Himalayan honeysuckle (Leycesteria)
Genus: Leycesteria.
Species: Leycesteria formosa.
This deciduous shrub from the Himalayas will reach 8 ft tall x 6 ft wide. It has a woody stem, leafy chains of purple and white flowers from June, and curiously interesting fruits of purple-black berries in leafy sheaths. Self seeds freely, and in favourable climates can become invasive.
