Bigbumblebee's Garden
Aquilegia
Genus: Aquilegia.
Species: Aquilegia skinnerii.
A little different to most Aquilegias, species skinnerii has almost fern-like, semi-evergreen foliage. The flowers are long-spurred, and although not so floriferous as many of the hybrids, the flowering season is considerably longer.
Frequently quoted as being 18ins tall, the flower stems on this one regularly reach 2 ft. or more, but the foliage stays low in a nice neat clump.
