Genus: Strelitzia.
Species: Strelitzia reginae.
i 1st saw these while on holiday on tenerife. saw the seeds on sale at gardeners world live last year & just had to buy them. the photo is taken just under a year old. its their 1st birthday this week. doing well in a east facing window, getting put out when the sun is shining (a rare occurence in sheffield). apart from some slight damage to the lower leaves where my cat decided to have a chew on them? lol.
