"Japonica" or Ornamental "Quince"
Genus: Chaenomeles.
Species: Chaenomeles speciosa.
We bought it as C sinensis 'Moerloosei'. But "A rose by any other name....."
The buds open, virtually, white then go through shades of pink to, almost red. Depenent upon flower age and degree of "Sunburn".
