A small clumping herbaceous perennial to 20 cm high and 40 cm wide with green grass like leaves and large blue flowers in summer.
Although the blossoms each last only one day, there are usually plenty of buds forming so that there is a succession of new blooms over long periods.
The plant dies back in cold weather. Full sun or part shade.
