Appropriately, the new leaves of this handsome variety open a rich, pale brown, then mature to a cream-edged gray-green. Despite its delicate appearance, 'Toffee Chip' handles cold and heat easily, thriving in full sun to partial shade even on poor soils.
This Old World genus includes one of the best ground covers for shade, A. reptans, the Carpet Bugleweed. As its name suggests, it spreads enthusiastically, producing abundant runners that root wherever they touch the soil. The multiplying rosettes of shiny, oval leaves soon grow so thick that weeds can't compete, and they thrive in shade, where most lawn grasses languish.
Hardiness Zone: 4-9 S / 4-10 W
Height: 2"
spread: 20"
Deer Resistant: Yes
Exposure: Full or Part Sun
Blooms In: May-June
