Genus: Magnolia.
Species: Magnolia x loebneri Leonard Messel.
Gradually forms a beautiful large tree absolutely covered with pink fingery lightly scented flowers in early Spring before the leaves appear, but flowers from a young age. Leaves turn yellow in Autumn. Like a specially beautiful Stellata, described in one of my books a perhaps the most bequtiful magnolia and I agree.
Like all magnolias resents root disturbance. Seeds need stratifying over winter. I have about 40 seeds to spare and would happily exchange or just give 8-10 seeds to anyone who would lke to chance their arm
