Cordyline cannifolia - Palm lily

Genus: Cordyline.

Species: Cordyline cannifolia.

Common name: Palm lily
Botanic name: Cordyline cannifolia
Family: Agavaceae

This highly variable species is native to rainforests and eucalypt forests in northern Queensland and the Northern Territory in Australia.

It grows into a shub rarely more than 3 m (10 ft. tall). The slender canes support crowns of stalked, broad, lanceolate leaves that are glossy dark green above and beautifully glaucous below.

There is a raceme of small pink and slightly tubular flowers with yellow-ended stamens. These are followed by orange to bright red fruits.
