Xela's Garden
Tiger Flower
Genus: Tigridia.
Species: Tigridia pavonia.
Tigridia
Showing all the flamboyance of their South American origins, these corms can be planted after the risk of frost has passed to produce a festival of colour in mid-late summer. Each exotic bloom lasts just a day, so it pays to plant them generously - they are affordable enough to do this without breaking the bank. They are winter dormant so can be lifted and rested in late autumn to be replanted the following spring.
