Wild: Goldenrod
Genus: Solidago.
Species: Solidago canadensis.
Wild in the dry mosses and disturbed places along the sunny lowland or river flat, the goldenrod is a common summer wildflower. The usual flower season is late June and July. From all I've read, it seems to like to pick where it is, not planted. I'm thinking of an attempt to transplant flowering plants and let the seed choose where it may be the next year. I like the wild to be let wild. :-)
