Genus: Eriophorum.
Species: Eriophorum vaginatum.
Wild cotton grass can be found in any wet and boggy area in Alaska. More species as well, but in the interior we have mostly vaginatum. Blooms best in midsummer and can be found in abundance in clear undisturbed areas.
