Daylily: Not Navajo Princess
Genus: Hemerocallis.
Species: Hemerocallis.
Came to my garden with a tag, navajo princess, in 2008 but it is pictured pink and this flower is not. More a soft golden sand color with dark cherry wood center. A lovely face. The second year of flowering here in the cold resulted in later and smaller blooms. I am going to try a cloche over them this year to give an early and good start. I will be trying that on many other perennials as well. I also haven't decide if they should be removed to the ground or not. I haven't had them die back to the ground yet, winter comes on so quickly. Just green beneath the mulch.
