Greenthumb's Garden
Great Cascade: Lophospurmum
Species: Lophospermum erubescens.
This was a lovely find at one one of our nursery houses here. And they repeat it each year, so it does well. This is also known as a creeping gloxinia. The vines have the habit of arching over and across and the leaves twine to things at the stem. I had a slow start to mine but once they got in stride it was a profusion of bloom through the end of summer. The area on the front porch was full sun between 8-6 but a long hour of shade 1-2pm each day. The blooms were long lived and stood up to a bit of wind. Great for trailing over a rail like I have done. Could do well in baskets. I'm talking myself into another...lol!
