Summer Savory
Genus: Satureja.
Species: Satureja hortensis.
This is a nice savory that I grow each year. Forms a good bush sown in a bunch and crops nice all summer until these fine little purple flowers come and the plant tips darken to deep red. I like the late season herb with the flowers, but can be used and collected through the summer also. A lovely herb for short season gardens and will reseed and go wild in a milder place.
