Judas Tree
Genus: Cercis.
Species: Cercis siliquastrum.
Bought this in Saumur, France (Loire Valley) at Easter, 2001 while we were stating there in our caravan. There were many of these trees all around the town & despite neither of us being "pink" people we both loved the display of small flowers which come out before the leaves. I found the plant in a French garden book to check what it needed and bought it for the equivalent of about £7 as a 3 foot high specimen. This year, 2010, has been the best display yet.
