Genus: Ceanothus.
Species: Ceanothus (dont know which one).
its a tree like shrub - I inherited it - it had been in a pot for years and never got higher than 2ft. first year in the ground it bushed out then second year its to the top of the fence - I think its going to turn into a shrub like tree.
