Species: Anemone coronaria.
I planted a lot of these this year and have decided to plant some more. The primary colours are a delight and very showy in the garden. I have had great difficulty growing them in the past and am wondering if it is because they get eaten before they get a chance. Something bit off the flowering stems this year and then ate the flowers but left the rest. I have found soaking the corms first help them to germinate.
