Sage
Genus: Salvia.
Species: Salvia officinalis.
I have lots of herbs in a herb bed. The sage is several years old, and quite woody at the base. I use it a lot in cooking, in stocks and soup, chopped up in a herb mix.
It formed a second plant when it layered itself over a pot I had left in the bed, so now I have two well-established sage bushes and am quite chuffed! The leaves sometimes wilt in frost, but it always recovers.
