Genus: Digitalis.
Species: Digitalis purpurea.
My favourite flower! I have several varieties, including a lovely cream, 2 sun-loving plants from Portugal and 2 roadside shade dwellers. My native purple colony seems to have died out, unfortunately after it spent several years happily self-seeding. :-(
