Ajuga reptans

I bought this Ajuga as a ground cover plant...it is wonderfully hardy and spreads happily. it tolerates less than perfect soil conditions and puts up lovely blossom in the spring...a pretty blue carpet.. the leaves are a wine red/dark green combination...transplanted some to the stones near the spring and it is establishing well, good on steep banks...good soil anchor... coexists with wild strawberry. likes a topdressing with compost spring and fall.
