Lavender dentata

Genus: Lavandula.

Species: Lavandula dentata.

Scented mauve flower spikes, crowned with 'ears'. Compact evergreen bushlet with deeply cut, grey-green, aromatic foliage.

Suitable for: plant in a sheltered sunny spot, in well-drained soils. Ideal for the border front, low hedges and containers

Flowering time: Mid to late Summer

Height and Spread: 90cm x 90cm

Culinary Uses: Add flowers to salads, soups, stews, sauces and stuffings, biscuits and scones.

Traditional Medicinal Uses: Lavender oil was used as an antiseptic and inhaled to prevent vertigo and fainting.

Care: Remove dead flower heads to prolong flowering. Prune back annually after flowering.
