Fritillaria Imperialis (Crown Imperial or Kaiser's Crown) is a species of flowering plant of the genus Fritillaria. This stunningly bright Red Crown Imperial 'Rubra Maxima' will make a bold statement in your garden during Spring time and will grow to 90cm tall with a very sturdy stem. It bears lance-shaped, glossy leaves at intervals along the stem. At the top of the stem, the downward facing flowers are topped with a 'crown' of small leaves, hence the name. This range of Fritillaria has a distinct odour that repels mice, moles and other rodents.
