Photinia Red Robin
Genus: Photinia.
Species: Photinia x fraseri.
Beautiful red new growth contrasts with mid/dark green evergreen older leaves. I have two standards each about 10ft (3m) tall (and a couple of bush forms) which are much more colourful than most 'trees' for summer shade. I find them difficult to propagate from cuttings but that's probably just me! In winter, don't forget to make sure snow doesn't build up on them or it can snap branches!
